Something perplexes me. Each day I come to these lands, I hear tidings of woe, darkness, boredom, and the eventual death of these lands. I do like to keep a cheerful face, however. It seems to me that no one involved wants these lands to die. The people are here, though many sleep, some still persist, chipping away at daily goals and dreams. The gods are here, though often quiet, we see them when the need arises. They help as they can, providing where they can. Those with ability and persistence continue to try to make this a bustling place, whether they host, hunt, participate, or simply stay here. So, why then do the lands proceed to wither around us? Why do more and more slumber, never to awaken? Why do even our enemies, whether new like Red Flare, or old faces from the past, not even bother to attempt to create chaos anymore? Have we entered a final, resting stasis for this place? To me, that isn't the end of things. However, such a thing bears mentioning. Let me elucidate. If this place has entered it's final phase of being, those who live in these lands deserve to know this. If we are simply to live, persist, thrive and dream among the simple and timeless flow of the holidays, then that is a truth we must come to live and cope with. It may be a harsh truth, it may be an uncomfortable truth, but truth deserves to be known in its purest form. Tell those who need to know these things the truth. Be outwards and honest with the last residents of these lands. Many desire and crave change. Many would be frustrated greatly and angered by such a truth. I have been one to crave change and new things myself, yet... That's not what this is about, anymore, to me. Over the last great stretch of Hyuls dating back to when we last saw true chaos emerge in these lands, when Red Flare danced among us, I've grown tired of waiting for change. I've grown uncomfortable with the possibilities change could bring. I've become jaded, to the point where I often doubt that "change" is what is needed here. I think it's simple, up front honesty that we need, not some great sweeping tide of change and dreams, easy to create, easy to count, easy to enact, yet quickly forgotten in the grand scheme of it all... If wishes were horses, yes indeed. But they are not. We aren't a land of wishes and dreams anymore. That's quite all right. But we are a hardworking people that deserve a truthful life, as long as we have left to live in these lands. Really, I suppose that's all I ask. *She smiles, turning and fading with a soft shrug.* <b> ~ ~ ~ <b> In your service till the bitter end, <b> <b> ~ Z` | |
