Good points. I'm all for Kru doing something, anything, about bots and leechers. Best case scenario, every good cave with a LR that is usually taken would get at least one cloned instance.. I prefer Rhino, because the alternatives have color schemes that make my eyes hurt after extended hunts. Other games have introduced systems to combat the issue of bots and people gaining experience while afk. The best system that I've seen is an in-game captcha that randomly activates after someone has repeated the same inputs for an extended period of time. It takes that player into a separate area that is away from everything, and has them pick which garbled images of numbers are equal to the answer to the question it asks them. Failing the captcha or just inputting random key presses results in them getting a negative experience buff, and a very high chance of getting captcha'd again. Every failure gives a stacking debuff to experience/items gained, until they get nothing. Sucessfully completing the captcha gives them a small exp bonus and excludes them from the captcha for a while. This saved a game that was almost completely overrun by bots, and it became a popular game that has very few bots now. I'm not going to name it, but if you've played it you probably know what I'm talking about. Nexus needs something like this. It also needs something to activate for people who have been gaining exp and haven't cast any spell within 30 sec or a minute for several mintues. | |
