I didn't know about Cernunnos back when I was younger. I didn't realize he was watching over me, but looking back, it's obvious. There was that summer when it was so dry that the ground was cracking. I was just a kid digging in the dirt behind our house, wishing desperately for water. I kept digging until my hands felt damp, and then, to my surprise, clear water began seeping up. It was just enough to keep us going. At the time, I thought it was just luck. And the rabbit that's the memory I cherish the most. I was out looking for ginger with my brother when I wandered off. It was getting dark, but I could still see the trail. Then a rabbit appeared. It didn?t run away; it simply looked at me and hopped forward a bit, then paused to wait for me. I followed it for a long time, and eventually, it led me right to my brother. Back then, I thought it was just a part of nature. Now, I understand it was him. A rabbit may be small, but its part of the wild, and I believe he was just keeping me safe until I was ready to comprehend who he was. I want to devote myself to him. | |
