As I looked through the morning mist, I thought about my journey. I sat by a calm pond, a special place from my childhood. My family often played there and had picnics in the sun. The air smelled of wildflowers, and the sound of water flowing over rocks reminded me of happy days. I recalled a warm summer day filled with memories. I sat next to the pond, watching a hummingbird as it traveled from flower to flower, sipping sweet nectar with its shiny beak. Just as I began to lose myself in the colorful scene, my brother playfully pushed me into the water. As I fell, everything felt slower. I saw the hummingbird flying by, its bright feathers shining like gems. Once I was under the surface, I noticed the little bird hovering above me, its wide eyes showing curiosity, as if it wanted to comfort me. My brother went back to skipping stones across the smooth surface of the pond. Each rock created ripples in the water, altering the reflection of the trees. Suddenly, as I sank deeper and the light began to fade, everything went black. When I came to, I found myself standing in a small pool of water. The water around me glowed, illuminating the small room I was in. As my eyes adjusted, I saw the dark shapes of stalactites hanging from the caves ceiling, shimmering in the dim light. I uld see three salamanders resting on a flat rock, their shiny skin glimmering softly in the light. They observed me, as if judging my every move. Suddenly, I felt a thought pass through me: "Shes expecting you. Please take the path to your left." The voice echoed in my mind. I stood there, momentarily speechless and overwhelmed. After a moment, I took a deep breath and turned left, following the path into the shadows. As I followed the path I spotted a small opening in the cave wall, with faint light flickering like a beacon. Againthe voice urged me , Yes, take the tunnel and be quick. With curiosity and caution, I got down on my knees and crawled through the narrow passage. The snug tunnel measured about three feet by two, with cool, smooth walls. As I continued, I smelled nutmeg, wrapping around me like a warm hug. The rich aroma reminded me of my Aunts kitchen, where she made hot cocoa dusted with nutmeg. The familiar scent pushed me onward. When I reached the tunnels end, I stepped into a large chamber, much bigger than the cramped tunnel. The room was alive with vibrant fungi glowing in deep greens and bright yellows. The entire room glowed in a soft hue of green. A wave of relief filled me as I stood up, taking in the surreal beauty. The air buzzed with excitement. A warm and inviting voice filled the chamber. I turned around, startled, but couldn?t see the source. The voice spoke again, "My dear, look down and welcome to my home." Curious, I looked down and saw a tiny ant on an ancient log, covered in vibrant green moss. | |
