Hyul 162, Moon 5, Sun 12, 3:43 Marksman Fenlong notified my fellow scout, gadreel and myself about Jo'hannah who ventured into the Mythic Ox Cave in search of beef. Somewhere druing their journey, they were overrun by the bulls and lost a family jewel. We've decided to take a scouting trip to the Ox Cave. It should not be too complicated. Our plan was quite simple: We head to the cave, retrace their steps, find the jewel, and hopefully make it back to Trapper's Paradise in one piece. Before entering the cave, we made sure that we had all the supplies that we needed, such as water, weapons, food, sleep traps, rope, map and notes. Once inside, it quickly became very obvious that getting lost in this cave might be just as muich of a problem as the bulls. The cave has several paths, and everything started looking the same after just a few minutes. My cartography lessons taught me that a useful landmark does not have to be complicated. Sometimes you need something recognizable enough to tell you, "we have been here". I placed talismans along our route to mark where we had already traveled while Gadreel was laying sleep traps and slaying a few oxes that looked very angry. We did not know exactly where the family had lost the jewel, so we began looking for their trail. And we found some signs, and they started telling a story. To be continued... | |
