A day will come when the kingdoms fall silent. The gods abandon the lands, and the world will fall into a deep slumber of nightmares. Mortals will shoulder the burden of the heavens and the earth alike, and a great darkness will inhabit the forgotten corpse of a deceased god. In the abandoned place where unheard dreams are discarded, the rot will grow. This avatar of neglect will swell with power until it splits the veil of life and death, and it will pour out over the kingdoms of the Nexus, dissolving reality and absorbing every ounce of power that remains in our realm. The world will be unwoven, the winds will die. The mortals will call for aid, but no one will answer. The gods' hubris, sealing and imprisoning every being capable of defending the kingdoms, will result in the death of an entire world. Rejoice! Our kingdom's end is near. Abandoned to its fate by the very beings entrusted with its care. The void calls, and we are the only ones left to answer. The great void will balance all, and render all hope obsolete. There will be no dreams, no desire. No future. Everyone will become void. A perfectly balanced world. A perfectly empty existence. But, worry not. It won't hurt. You might already be inside of this dark dream. The Vortex exists inside the darkness. The tomb exists inside the void. ChiZao sleeps in the darkness, and the tomb's seal will be devoured along with everything else. Abandon your beliefs. Embrace a new source of hope. Resist the false dream, and embrace the one future that might still have a chance to rise from the darkness. | |
