*a pinned letter neatly on the Chronicles of the Winds*

I grew up in the mountains of Vale, where rivers carve through stone like threads of silver and the wind brings echoes of ancient songs. My mother was a ceramic artist, and my father worked as a miner. From them, I absorbed the rhythm of the earth, learned the patience of clay mud, felt the weight of stone, and understood how both can yield and resist.

Magic found me unexpectedly. While assisting my father in preparing stones for the winter firepit, I reached out, and the rock shifted beneath my touch, not breaking but moving as if it were alive and responding to a gentle call. The village elders called it a heavenly gift and sent me to the House of Chi, where I would meet the Earths Dragon, a solitary creature living in the cliffs by a riverbend. This dragon taught me that the land listens to those who are willing to listen first.

My early days were filled with exhaustion and awe as I learned to feel the energies of minerals, to shape sand into art, and to calm the earth's tremors. I didn't always succeed; one time, I almost buried our hut under an avalanche of shale. The dragon merely smiled, saying, "Power is like a child. Nurture it carefully, or it will become unruly." The path that followed was challenging. The Vale faced natural disasters, and threats came from both the west and the east. The land grew restless.

Many people left for the wilderness and distant kingdoms, but I chose to stay. I could feel the earth's agony, its thirst, and its struggles. That's when I realized my true calling: to be a Geomancer. Not just someone who shapes stone, but one who listens to the harmony between the land and life itself. I drew water from the deep veins below our fields, nurtured gardens that basked in the sunlight, and restored greenery to parched soil.

Gradually, the people of Vale began to trust me, not as a girl with unusual abilities but as their own. Now, standing atop the highest cliffs gazing at my home, I sense my journey expanding. Beyond the Vale lie mountains I've yet to explore, shores where sands are still at rest. The world is vast, full of secrets, and I'm only starting to grasp their melody. Yet, the earth remembers, and so do I.

With each step I take, I feel the pulse of energies around me, a rhythm that started in the mining fields, in the clay mud, in the hands of a girl who once dared to ask a stone to move. The land has shaped me, and now I have the chance to shape it in return.

*I think to myself as I pin this letter to the Chronicles of the Winds*

"The Vale's very own Yoonji moves forward, unafraid of what lies beneath or ahead."
