At dusk, I filled a dark bowl and let it settle until the surface became a perfect mirror. No wind, no tremor. I dropped three small stones, each representing a force within the kingdoms.. presence, memory and calling into the bowl. The ripples spread outward.. intersecting.. breaking.. reforming. Then I watched. At first, the water showed almost nothing.. only faint distortions, like a reflection struggling to hold its shape. This is significant in Ydromancy.. when the surface refuses to reveal, it does not mean emptiness.. it means submersion. After a while shapes emerged. Not lost but blurred.. as if they were standing just out of sight and moving. Like circling the edges of the kingdoms. The water darkened slightly and I knew the problem is not absence but uncertainty. I asked the water a second question.. What keeps them from coming back? I stirred the bowl with my fingertips.. This time the ripples were crisper and jagged.. The vision fragmented.. Empty halls where no voice has been heard recently. Messages left too long ago and unanswered. Routes grown over not by time but by lack of passage. Ydromancy speaks of broken reflections as representing broken continuity. The kingdoms have not sustained the current.. its energy pulses and fades.. It becomes difficult for others to find a foothold in it. Then, once more, I stilled the water and waited for the closing vision. One drop fell from above.. There was nothing to shield it. It hit the middle and the whole bowl rang, waves reaching every rim and for an instant the reflections were clear and whole. This is the solution. The kingdoms do not need many.. they need one consistent center. One action that does not fade. One presence that does not flicker.. From that.. the current will rebuild. -Yoonji | |
