As a soldier of Koguryo, I see the spirit of the tiger reflected in the heart of a warrior. Courage, strength, and an unwavering sense of right and wrong are qualities I strive to uphold on the battlefield and in service to my king. Like the tiger, I do not shy away from a challenge, for a soldier who fears hardship cannot protect his homeland or his fellow men. Yet I know that bravery without discipline can lead to recklessness, and pride can blind even the strongest warrior to his own shortcomings. I must learn to temper my fiery spirit with wisdom, lest my determination become the very weakness an enemy exploits. The wood element speaks to me as a warrior and a leader of men. Like a tree whose roots grip the earth while its branches reach toward the heavens, I draw strength from my ancestors, my homeland, and the brothers who stand beside me. I believe that true strength is not measured solely by the enemies I defeat, but by those I protect and the example I set for those who follow me. Wood teaches me to remain flexible when circumstances change, yet steadfast in my convictions. Though my aggression may serve me well in battle, I must exercise patience and restraint beyond it.
