Foraging changes depending on the environment. In deserts, people can gather wood to make fire, snakes for meat, and scorpions to make poisonous weapons. In icy lands, there can still be animals used for food including bears.  Finding fire wood is essential to fight off the cold. Flower-filled areas provide edible flowers and herbs, as long as they are carefully identified. Beaches offer things like seaweed and shellfish found along the shore, as well as coconuts for water.  Farmland provides crops such as fruits, vegetables, and grains grown by people. Each area shows how the land shapes what can be foraged.
