There I was minding my own business in Spring Tavern. I had stopped in for a quick lunch of a soup bowl and an apple before heading back out to busy myself with my studies in the library. Mind you, I was in quite a state, blotted with ink smudges and slightly disheveled from sleeping at my desk. My only pristine piece, the augury staff, hanging delicately across my back. I didn't have the faintest desire for idol chit chat, but here I was at the receiving end of the rest of Spring, with her flouncy too bright red curls. She packaged up my goods tidily in a sack before springing her request on me. It seems instead of simple payment today, she also posed an inquiry. To state that I had no mind of sorts today was an understatement. However, I had no honest reason to deny a simple request, so I obliged. So, I gently set my belongings down and listened intently as Spring presented me with her current predicament. Turns out, Spring has quite a crush on her workmate, Taur. "Please tell me if I will find love with Taur!" She apparently had been making quiet, suggestive means to an end in her own way, but she was unsure if her crush had even noticed her! With that said, I grabbed out my deck of cards and shuffled them in a solid even stack and flipped my first card. River followed by the second card, Wand: Information, guidance, final factor. I look up at Spring, full of inquisition and smile at her. "Spring, before you is the card River, indicating balancing, fluidity, and a carving bath. Beside that card, we have Wand that indicates information, guidance, and the final determining factor. It looks to me like you should just ask Taur point blank if he has feelings for you in order to resolve your curiosity." With that, I gently placed the cards back into my stack and tucked them into my belongings before heading out the door. Some things don't need cards to give you an answer. The answer is already inside you. ~Nyxie | |
