With a Tarot deck tucked away in my sleeve, I strolled along the stone paths of northern Kugnae while a gentle breeze rustled the familiar lanterns. I had been searching for someone willing to ask a question-someone whose curiosity might receive an answer from the Tarot. I saw Poet Trainer Jinsun sitting serenely near the southern gate, his eyes calm as the river. I bowed respectfully and asked if he had a question that divination could help with. When he shared his concern, a soft smile appeared. "Will the youth of Kugnae find inspiration in the arts again?" I called upon the kingdom's winds to guide my hand while I shuffled the deck and picked three cards. <b>Past (Barrier) This card represented a time after reflection and silence. I told Elder Jinsun that the engagement of young people in shared creativity had ceased in recent months due to feelings of being lost and not knowing which direction to take. They were all awaiting a meaning to be shown and for the inspiration to return, so to say, like a path blocked by some invisible force. <b>Present (Flower) This card represents a heart and spirit reopened, with growth, curiosity, and a new spark of creativity. The youth is starting to blossom, like the unfurling of lotus petals, when the water surfaces are serene. They still hold a sense of wonder; what they need is care and guidance, the security to reach up toward the light. <b>Future (Star) This card brings motivation, renewal, and hope. I saw it as a gift to the kingdom's artistic community. Through the stars that poetry and visions recognize so well, creativity will flow again. In workshops, through poetry and painted scrolls, bright educators will shine. Young people across the kingdoms will not only feel inspired; they will also glow with their own light. Elder Jinsun bowed his head, his expression radiant like sunlight on water as if it were aflame. As I left him among the swaying bamboos and fish, he watched proudly, hopeful for the future of the arts. The promise of the cards lifted his spirits. | |
