I grew up in a simple life. My father was a quite man. He did not talk or play with me very much. All my life, I just know that he is a hard working man. He work everyday, he taught me to keep my word as a man and stand strong, even when life is difficult. My mother was kind and gentle. She really care for other people more than herself. When times are hard, she stayed strong for us. From my mother, I learned patience and compassion. She really teaches me that strength can aslo be soft. Then one day, everything changed. Life is just a blink of an eye. My parents died....A fire broke out while my parents were inside. I was not there at the moment of the fire. By the time people are gathering to help, its too late. My father tried to protect my mother... she stayed by his side and never leave each other. The house became a dead silence. Their voices gone... my heart felt cold even during the day. Asking God? just too many questions and doubt in my mind, why and how this happened. I am an orphan, no one will care about an orphan boy.... even the neighbours look at me like a piece of trash. I spent alot of time aline. I learned to live with sadness. I leanred to stay quiet, because talking hurt too much. I spend alot of time alone. I watched the trees and the sky. Nature did not ask questions. It did not judge. It is just stay simple, strong and calm. Thats how I learn to endure. When I learned about the Rangers, I felt something I had not felt in a long time. It is like a purpose... Rangers live quietly. They protect others from danger. They stand watch so others can sleep in peace. I saw the same courage my parents had showed me that night in the fire... I want to join the Rangers because I do not want others to feel the loss that I felt. I really want to protect life, even if no one knows my name. I was to carry this duty with honor and care. The path shaped by grieve, but also by hope. this is why I wish to walk the Ranger path. Neth | |
