I first believed that neutrality was a state of mind, or a concept of refusing to take a side during conflict. My original thoughts did touch on what neutrality is, but they did not grasp the totality of being neutral. I have studied with multiple Geomancers, gaining a unique perspective from each of them. While their personal points of view have similarities, they also differ. This showed me that, at some point, I would be walking my own unique path. That path would be formed by the lessons I was being taught, but also from personal experience and, more importantly, observation. To be neutral, a person must first be watching. Most would never be aware that something was out of balance, had they not known what was out of place, or where something may have once been. This could be a different species of mushroom in a grove. It could be a minnow in a creek. It could be a burning tree. Subtle changes cause ripple effects, and over time....nature restores balance. I have learned that Geomancers view things through the lense of nature and elements that form a seemingly unending loop of give and take. So, their views are different than my own perspective on Yin/Yang and Tao. While we describe it differently, I think we are both making effort to describe the same abstract idea. I have also been asked how I will apply this knowledge in my own life. That is difficult. I would like to believe that I will observe things from a new perspective. One that blends the Divine with the Natural. I know that I will pay closer attention to what is around me, and to what subtle or drastic changes are occurring. I think the most honest answer would be to wait and see. I do not wish to make a promise I cannot keep, but I can make a vow to apply effort. I may learn something tomorrow that changes my perspective again. At some point, that is likely to occur. I will continue to refine my understanding of balance, and neutrality. I will make an effort to apply my understanding to inner being, and to my outward actions. Before trying to determine what I will do to intervene, I will first determine if I SHOULD intervene. I will also try to have a deeper respect for the natural order of things. I will try to understand the place of things within that order. And treat each thing appropriately if I should have to interact. I will continue to seek truth. I will continue to seek knowledge. I will continue to be of service. Hopefully, I will also become more successful in each of these things with the lessons I have been given. LawAndOrder ~Divine Librarian~ | |
