The Path I Chose He was born in a small village in southern Nagnang, where he spent much of his childhood beside the river with his father. His father taught him to watch the world rather than try to control it. The movement of water, the changing seasons, the wind through the trees, and the stars above were all lessons to be observed. One of his fondest memories was sitting beside the river with his father, watching a bonfire beneath the night sky. At the time, he did not understand the meaning behind his father's words. He simply listened. Before he reached adulthood, a tribal raid came upon the village. By his father's final act, he was hidden inside the village ossuary and survived while the village was destroyed. When he emerged, there was no one left to return to. Since that day, he has always worn a skull mask. Everyone who once knew his true face was lost in the raid. Some say the mask hides scars left by that night. Others believe he wears it to leave his former self behind. Whatever the truth may be, he has never spoken of it. As the years passed, he began to understand the lessons his father had once tried to teach him. He came to see that the world was not simply a collection of things, but a constant flow of Qi. He learned of Yin and Yang, and how opposing forces are not meant to destroy one another, but to exist together in a continuous cycle. He also came to understand that balance is not something that remains still. It is a process, constantly shifting with the world around us. Like water, he learned that one does not always need to resist. Sometimes it is wiser to yield, observe, and follow the natural order. These lessons eventually led him to the path of the Geomancer. He does not seek power, glory, or authority. His path is not one of conquest, but of understanding. He wishes to continue learning about Qi, nature, and the balance between opposing forces, and to become a Keeper of Balance in his own way. Whatever the future brings, he will follow its flow rather than force his own path upon it. | |
